By "T" (trolley):

Take the Orange Line toward Oak Grove and get off at Malden Center.
Exit to the parking lot on the west side of the station.
Face the parking lot, and walk straight down Pleasant Street (the street to the right of the parking lot).
After one block, Pleasant Street becomes Elm Street, staying to the right.
Another block to Beth Israel on the corner of Elm & Dexter.

From Brookline, Cambridge, downtown Boston and points south:

Take Storrow Drive or Memorial Drive east to Hwy. 93 North
Exit 32 (Route 60), about 5 miles north of downtown Boston
Turn right onto Route 60 at the bottom of the exit ramp
Take Rte. 60 to the THIRD traffic light (don't count the flashing yellow)--to Fellsway EAST--which is one traffic light past Fellsway WEST, about 1 mile from Hwy 93.
Turn LEFT onto Fellsway East--not sharp left, but "far" left.
Continue up the hill and a couple blocks until Fellsmere Pond on your left goes out of sight. Make a right turn onto Maple Street, and continue past the traffic light to Hawthorne Street, the next intersection.
Make a right turn onto Hawthorne Street and continue (one block) until it ends.
Make a LEFT turn there, onto Elm Street. The synagogue is on the LEFT. Drive around the building by taking the next left, onto Dexter Street, and park in the parking lot.

From Lowell, New Hampshire and points north:

Take Hwy. 93 South
Exit 32 (Route 60), about 5 miles north of downtown Boston
At the bottom of the exit ramp, drive left around the rotary-underneath Hwy. 93-to Route 60 EAST.
Take Rte. 60 to the THIRD traffic light (don't count the flashing yellow)--to Fellsway EAST--which is one traffic light past Fellsway WEST, about 1 mile from Hwy 93.

From Danvers, Peabody, Swampscott & the North Shore:

Take Rt. 1 South.
Exit right at Lynn Fellsway in Saugus
Turn left at the stop sign. Target & Shaws will then be on your right.
Continue south on Fellsway for about 15 minutes, passing Melrose High School & Middlesex Fells Reservation
Immediately after exiting the forest of trees, continue straight on the Fellsway until you pass a cemetery on the right.
One block past the cemetery, turn LEFT onto Maple Street
Drive through the traffic light ahead and take the next RIGHT onto Hawthorne Street
Continue (one block) until Hawthorne Street ends.
Turn LEFT there, onto Elm Street. The synagogue is on the LEFT. Drive around the building by taking the next left, onto Dexter Street, and park in the parking lot.
