Rabbi Geller had been the rabbi of Congregation Brothers of Joseph in Norwich, Connecticut for 28 years, as well as a leader in the Jewish chaplaincy movement, having served as a colonel in the U.S. Air Force. With his wife, Chana, Rabbi Geller brought a new vitality to the synagogue.
