Memorial Service for Rabbi Charles Weinberg
The memorial service for Rabbi Charles Weinberg, rabbi emeritus of Congregation Beth Israel, was held on February 8, 2009 in the main sanctuary of Congregation Beth Israel at 10 Dexter Street, Malden. The service began with the mincha prayers, followed by a psalm read by current rabbi, Rabbi Yitzchak Zev Rabinowitz. A eulogy was delivered by Rabbi Max Schreier, the rabbi of the Avenue N Jewish Center in Brooklyn, NY, who is a long-time friend and colleague of Rabbi Weinberg. He was followed by a speech by Mr. Lawrence Weiner, President and long-time member of Congregation Beth Israel, and by Mr. Harvey Goldman, also a long-time member of Congregation Beth Israel. Rabbi Rabinowitz finished up with a Kel Maleh, and the memorial service was concluded with the Ma'ariv prayers.
